Philadelphia Murals Thanks to the Mural Arts Program, Philadelphia is nationally and internationally recognized as America’s “City of Murals”. Over the past 20 years they have created over 2600 murals and other works of public art. October is Mural Arts Month but mural tours are available every Saturday from April - October from the Independence Visitor Center at 6th & Market Streets. Get there 15 minutes early to purchase tickets - it’s $20 for adults, $17 seniors, $10 kids 5-12 and free for under 5. Tour lasts about 2 hours. The largest mural, Common Threads, is at the intersection of Broad and Spring Garden streets. For an easy family stroll of 8 murals see this link.
